Dear Friends,

Greetings!

Around the same time last year, we wrote a letter asking for help to make the Christmas of over 150 kids with cancer a memorable one.  The response was overwhelming – that until now, these children and their families still remember it as one of their happiest Christmas party ever.  Some kids have moved on to the other life, but at least, we made their last Christmas a happy and unforgettable one for their families.

Project: Brave Kids Inc. is committed to make the lives of these children and their families more bearable – especially since our very own son Seve, reminds us everyday of the struggle these kids with cancer go through.

It seems like we’ve just started, but time flies so fast. Though the memory of last year’s party is still fresh, we are now in the middle of preparations for another Brave Kids Christmas party to be held on December 7, 2007 in Philippine Children’s Medical Center in Quezon City. Because of this, we are writing you again to request for help to ensure that this year’s party will be another happy and unforgettable one.

For more than three years that we have been serving PCMC, there are three things that we have found out that these children and their families want for Christmas.  These are:

1.      A simple gift
2.      Raffle and prizes
3.      And a fun party, highlighted by seeing showbiz personalities

Hearing these wishes just shows that these children – despite their condition remain children at heart – wishing like any ordinary child.  But one thing though is different – they are not sure these wishes will be granted given their parents have limited fund for gift, since the priority is to buy a chemo drug; limited Christmas party to go since these children are not encourage to go out due to their immunocompromise state – much more go to a television network to watch the show.

Again, it is because of these three simple reasons that we are writing you. We hope and pray that their wishes will be granted through your generosity. We’ve always counted on your support in making things happen for these children., we hope these year, you wont fail us.

We intend to give them an SM or Toy Kingdom Gift Certificate so they will buy what they really want. (We have to admit, last year, we had difficulty mixing and matching a number of gifts since we have a vary wide range of beneficiaries from 18 months to 18 years old). We are also asking for items to be given away as prizes or for the raffle draw. And we hope to give them a noche Buena pack and some vitamins to strengthen their resistance specially these cold season.

We also hope you can all join us on December 7, from 12 Noon to 5 PM and all together we can bring Christmas cheers to these children.
